“TTC chairman Adam Giambrone says a new subway line cutting through the bottom of the city is a “good idea,” one the TTC will start looking at seriously by 2018. The Downtown Rapid Transit project, or Downtown Relief Line (DRL), would relieve congestion at the Bloor-Yonge interchange and the line’s busiest stretch between Yonge and [...]

Bell is using DPI to find and limit the use of peer-to-peer applications such as BitTorrent, which it says are congesting its network, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reports.
The [...]

“unnatural colour and beads” ?
So, maybe it’s no surprise the initial park employment staffer who interviewed Ms Devnani didn’t see her hair as extreme, but in the eyes of another, in the human [...]

Ontario’s legislature has ordered Toronto’s 9,000 transit workers to end their suprise strike that idled the country’s largest fleet of subways, streetcars and buses. All parties supported the bill, introduced personally by Premier Dalton McGuinty, who called a rare Sunday session of the legislature to pass the back-to-work legislation.
As a result, subway trains, streetcars and [...]

National Geographic includes the TTC’s Queen streetcar, the 501, one of the top 10 trolley routes in the world. It’s a crowded ride, but oh, what a view. The 501 has become emblematic of the stretched service on the TTC. But finally there’s a glint of good news for the much-maligned queen of Toronto’s streetcar [...]

As I have mentioned before if the PC’s decide to go the “neo-conservative” route, and it plays out in the public eye as an “internal turf” of their leader, it maybe many years before they ever hold the seat of power in Ontario again. Insiders have also said that the people who want John Tory [...]

It’s an embarrassment that Canada’s busiest airport still isn’t linked to Toronto’s downtown core by public transit and getting it done should be a priority, federal Transport Minister Lawrence Cannon said Friday.
In a speech to the Toronto Board of Trade, Cannon called it unbelievable that a world-class city like Toronto doesn’t have the transit infrastructure [...]

The past few years have definitely been interesting for the city of Toronto. Various groups have indicated that Toronto is full of waste and inefficiencies. On the other hand, the Federal government is awash with cash. There is definitely a problem with money on all three levels of government. However, what David Miller needs to [...]
